General Information
The teaching program on the Faculty of Sciences is based on a thorough knowledge of mathematical methods as well as experimental and theoretical physics. In the undergraduate courses they become familiar with modern concepts of physics mathematics. BSc. degree is awarded in the 3rd year of studies after passing an exam. Students are taught and supervised individually starting the MSc. courses (after 3rd year) and may choose their specialization. The undergraduate courses for BSc. and MSc. degrees are taught in Czech. The promising students may appraise their ability in the postgraduate studies (PhD). They are involved in various research projects, since the research associates are engaged in teaching, supervise the student's research projects and give special courses. The graduates may easily adopt in broadly oriented research teamwork and switch to the needed areas of scientific and industrial research and development projects.
Research Activities
A wide range of research projects are carried out in collaboration with other
research facilities in the following directions:
Mossbauer spectroscopy |
Biophysics |
Electron microscopy |
Fundamental aspects of quantum theory |
Quantum optics |
Quantum information |
Quantum cryptography |
Nonlinear optics |
Laser optics |
Non-diffracting fields
in electromagnetic optics |
